YMCA Expands Childcare to Serve CCPS Teachers

(Naples, FL, June 11, 2008) – Staring in August, teachers at two Collier County schools will have new childcare options. The Greater Naples YMCA is opening Early Learning Centers at Veterans Memorial Elementary School and Sabal Palms Elementary School. The Centers will open on August 11, the day when teachers return for the 2008-2009 school year.

According to Beth Hatch, YMCA Director of Child Care Services, “Onsite childcare helps employees balance work and family. Through the new Early Learning Centers, the YMCA hopes to support Collier County Public School teachers find a childcare solution designed just for them.”

Each Center will have toddler and preschool classrooms for children ages 1 to 5 years. Teachers at Veterans Memorial and Sabal Palm Elementary Schools have priority enrollment at their respective Center. If space is available, any CCPS teacher at another school in the district will be eligible to enroll their children. Finally, if space still remains, enrollment will be open to siblings of students at either school. Both Early Learning Centers will follow the instruction schedule for CCPS. Summer childcare will be available if needed.

The YMCA is hosting an open house for interested CCPS teachers on Tuesday, June 10, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the main lobby of the Greater Naples YMCA. Please contact the YMCA Child Development Center at (239) 597-5437 for more information.

The Greater Naples YMCA is one branch of the YMCA of the Palms Association. The YMCA of the Palms offers quality, affordable programs and services to benefit all people. Ever-changing to serve community needs, the YMCA provides a values-based environment and quality programs for children, teens, adults, seniors, and families. The YMCA of the Palms is committed to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities and our goal is that no one is ever turned away for an inability to pay.
